The movable scaffold system or advanced shoring method is one of the most recognized systems for span-by-span in-situ construction of bridges. The system is renowned for its lightweight, practical efficiency in operation, and innovative ideas. One of the latest innovations enables to operate without the need for external cranes or lifting equipment. 

The advanced shoring method – or movable scaffold system – has been developed for multi-span bridges over difficult terrain or water where scaffolding would be expensive or not feasible at all. A launching girder moves forward on the bridge piers span-by-span. The method is highly adaptable for a wide range of spans and types of superstructure, and it can handle cast in-situ concrete, as well as prefabricated elements. This system is most suitable for bridges over waterways, bridges with high piers as well as for site conditions where access for external cranes is difficult or impossible.
