Soil Anchors

Soil Anchors

Soil anchors are installed in soil or loose rock, which transfer forces into the ground by means of a steel tendon or bar. Depending on the type of tendon, the anchorage at the stressing end uses a nut and a plate, or wedges and a wedge plate/bearing plate.

Soil anchors are used for  anchoring of support structures for excavations, such as sheet piling or trench boxes, slope stabilization, transfer of external tensile forces to the ground and stabilization of very eccentrically loaded foundations.
